Sunday Snapshot {gymnastics}

 This is something that goes on regularly at our house. 

A little gymnastics.

Flips. Handstands. Cartwheels. 

Well, mostly flips. 

'Cause that's pretty much all we can do.

2024 Olympics here we come. 

And a good Saturday wouldn't end well without a little hammocking...

happy 19th birthday, may

Yes, she turned 19 years old yesterday. 

Her last year as a teen.

It seems like just yesterday she was walking into middle school, but now she is headed her way to her dream college. (Go tarheels!) 

We are so, so proud of you, May and we love you to the moon and back. 

You truly are the best oldest sister we could ever ask for.

Today my grandmother is driving from West Virginia to visit us in time for May's 19th birthday (!!) and graduation (!!) and we are pretty excited about it. To burn off some excitement, we wrote cards to her while we wait. 

Joy had a little struggle with writing a “w” in “we”, but with some help, she got it.  
If I must say so myself, it looks pretty cute.  
Now Joy is walking around the house on her barbie phone saying, "JuJu come is 3 minutes. 3 minutes?" 

Come on, JuJu! We’re at the front door waiting!

Since Joy, Mom and I were the only ones home this weekend, we got some super fun quality time.

Eating out, shopping and playing together.

Safe to say we had a great time. 

And Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there (especially mine)!

Sunday Snapshot {sweatshirt fun}

Whew. You know when school is ending oh so soon, everything starts to speed up? Time starts flying by faster than ever and all you can do is hold on. And study for exams. 

Yep, we're back there again.

Well, the weather doesn't feel like it since is was 48 degrees today, but that is okay.

Anyway, today we put on our sweatshirts and went outside for some play time. 

Despite the chill and light rain, we had so much fun.

Track and May Day

 Lets start with track. May had a track meet Tuesday (she did amazing as always) and Joy just loves to imitate her and act like she is in the track meet. In between taking pictures of May, I watched Joy run in circles where we were standing while she asked me to yell "Go!" at her.

Oh, Joy. Just like your sisters.

So, May Day is a tradition at our school where there is a little ceremony for the seniors. Girls from different grades dance for them and it is absolutely precious. One of May's good friends was the May Queen this year and that was so special and sweet to watch. 

May and he friends looked so beautiful in their dresses and it once again reminded me of how much I am going to miss them next year.

Oh, how I have missed spring light. Although our weather has been a little bit, um, complicated, it has finally warmed up here. 

And we are so thankful it has.

The perfect walk

Today after I finished all of my homework, my dad asked what we thought about a walk. 

Um, I thought yes. 

It had been rainy all morning, but it cleared up later taking some of the humidity with it making it a perfect day for a stroll. 

We saw a dandelion. And y'all know those are my favorite. (don't believe me? Click here. and here.)

We picked flowers. 

We talked about school and bible study. 

We skipped. 

*Sigh* 

Talk about fun. 

It was a perfect walk on a perfect day with the perfect company.
